Lighting a small apartment

A single ceiling lamp flattens a room. We plan three layers: general light, working light and soft accent light.

In small apartments the accent layer matters most. Two or three low lamps make a room feel bigger in the evening than any bright ceiling fixture.

Warm colour temperature, around 2700 K, and dimmers on every circuit are the cheapest upgrade with the biggest effect.
